Immersive Restaurant Anamorphic Installation – Naked-Eye 3D Experience

A series of four 45-second anamorphic CGI stories for a private restaurant LED screen, transforming the bar-zone display into a premium immersive visual experience for guests.

Project Overview

A restaurant LED screen transformed from background display into part of the guest experience.

The client wanted the central LED screen behind the bar to become more than a decorative digital surface.

The goal was to create a premium visual experience that would strengthen the restaurant atmosphere, attract guest attention and make the space more memorable.

Lumenstory created four separate anamorphic CGI stories, each adapted to the restaurant’s ultra-wide LED screen and designed to make the display feel like a portal into different cinematic worlds.

The Challenge

The ultra-wide LED screen had to create depth instead of feeling like a flat decorative panel.

The screen had a non-standard ultra-wide resolution of 2682×648 px and was placed behind the central bar zone.

The naked-eye 3D effect required accurate perspective, object depth and movement trajectories based on the real viewing point of guests inside the restaurant.

Another challenge was variety: the content had to remain interesting for repeat visitors, so one loop was not enough. The experience needed several different visual stories.

Creative Direction

The screen became a portal into four cinematic worlds.

The creative direction was built around the idea that guests should not perceive the LED screen as a background video. Each story opens a different world inside the restaurant space and gives the screen its own role in the atmosphere.

The key wow moments came when objects appeared to break out of the LED plane: a spaceship emerging from deep space, fruit and liquid explosions, and a golden dragon transforming into the restaurant brand.

What We Created

A set of four anamorphic CGI stories designed to make the restaurant screen feel alive.

Deliverables
  • Four separate 45-second anamorphic CGI videos
  • Custom naked-eye 3D perspective for the restaurant LED screen
  • Ultra-wide content adapted to 2682×648 px resolution
  • Cinematic scenes with portals, depth, liquid, particles and object fly-out effects
  • Full 3-minute content cycle for continuous restaurant playback
Production scope
  • Storyboard
  • Animatic
  • CGI / 3D production
  • Houdini liquid and particle simulations
  • Compositing and color grading
  • Final anamorphic LED adaptation
Process

A screen-specific production pipeline built around guest viewpoint, variety and atmospheric impact.

01

Storyboard

The four story concepts, major visual beats and screen-depth moments were structured first.

02

Animatic

Timing, perspective, object movement and guest-facing readability were tested before final production.

03

3D Production

The cinematic worlds, hero objects, dragon, space scenes and restaurant-themed visual elements were created.

04

FX & Compositing

Liquid, particles, dynamic object behavior, color grading and final atmosphere were refined.

05

LED Adaptation

Each story was adapted to the ultra-wide LED format and tested for the intended naked-eye viewing point.

Technical Execution

The technical core was making an ultra-wide restaurant LED screen behave like a deep 3D portal.

The hardest part was creating a correct naked-eye 3D illusion for a highly stretched LED screen with a 2682×648 px resolution.

Perspective and depth had to be calculated around the real architecture of the restaurant and the viewing position of guests near the central bar zone.

Simulations of liquids, particles and object dynamics were used not only for visual beauty, but to strengthen the feeling that objects physically emerge from the screen space.

The production used Cinema 4D, Redshift, After Effects, Houdini liquid simulations, particle animation, dynamics, anamorphic projection workflow, compositing and color grading.

Production Notes

Early animatics and anamorphic tests protected the illusion before final rendering.

The project included 3 revision rounds. Risks were controlled through early approval of storylines and key frames at the animatic stage, plus anamorphic effect tests before final rendering.

Client Feedback
“The content exceeded expectations. The screen stopped feeling like a regular LED display and became part of the restaurant atmosphere – exactly the immersive wow effect we wanted.”
Outcome

The LED screen became a full part of the restaurant atmosphere instead of a background surface.

The content was integrated into the permanent restaurant atmosphere and became a real part of the guest experience.

The project achieved the client’s main goal: to create a strong visual effect, add surprise and make the screen feel like a premium immersive element of the space.

The four separate stories helped avoid monotony and gave the restaurant a richer visual cycle for repeat visitors and longer guest stays.

The final result turned a standard LED display into a memorable point of attention that strengthened the overall mood, perception and visual identity of the restaurant.
