AVIS – Holographic Opening Show Experience
A premium holographic opening show for AVIS “20 years with you”, combining CGI, projection mapping, layered holographic screens, TouchDesigner routing and full-stage visual control.
A 20-year brand anniversary opened with a holographic stage experience.
AVIS needed to celebrate its 20th anniversary in Ukraine with an opening moment that felt more powerful than a standard corporate presentation.
The goal was to capture attention from the first seconds, communicate scale and premium brand perception, and turn the stage into a full visual brand experience.
Lumenstory created a CGI opening show, holographic projection content, projection mapping setup and additional stage visuals for awards, executive entrances and event transitions.
The show had to create depth, presence and stability across layered projection surfaces.
The main visual surface was not a classic screen, but a set of layered holographic projection fabrics that required special content preparation and precise projection setup.
CGI content had to be distributed across multiple projection planes in real time while preserving perspective, geometry, timing and the illusion of objects appearing in the air.
The team also had to account for audience viewing angles, stage lighting and live event reliability, because the opening show had to work without delays or visual failures.
Motion, energy and automotive technology became a cinematic brand journey.
The show was built as a visual journey through the energy and scale of AVIS. Instead of a sequence of branded slides, the stage became a cinematic CGI space where movement, vehicles and technology carried the story.
The key wow moment was the illusion of visuals appearing in the air: a herd of horses breaking through space, followed by an X-ray reveal of a car in the holographic stage environment.

Content was adapted to projection planes and routed through TouchDesigner for real-time distribution.

Stage visuals were controlled and supported throughout the full event program.
The technical core was making 4K CGI content behave correctly across several holographic projection planes.
The most difficult part was adapting CGI content to multiple holographic projection layers without losing the illusion of depth and spatial presence.
The content was rendered in 4K and then distributed through TouchDesigner across separate projection fabrics, while preserving perspective, synchronization and scene integrity.
Projection fabric, audience viewing angles and stage lighting had to be considered together, because each of them affected how convincing the holographic effect felt in the room.
The production used Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, Redshift, After Effects, TouchDesigner, holographic projection fabric, projection mapping setup and a real-time visual routing system.
Projection tests and staged integration protected the holographic effect before the live event.

The project included about 2–3 revision rounds. Risks were controlled through projection geometry tests, technical previs, real setup checks and staged integration of scenes into the full event scenario.

The visual system extended beyond the intro: content was also used during awards, executive entrances and stage transitions throughout the evening.
The holographic projection setup helped the brand communicate scale, movement, technology and premium perception in a format stronger than a conventional corporate screen presentation.
For AVIS, the main goal was achieved: the event opened with a memorable visual moment that set the tone for the full evening.
